I consider myself pretty “savvy” when it comes to link building methods and search engine optimization, and I am a frequenter of webmaster forums… but I don’t often hear too much about what I’ve coined “reinforced link building”. It probably has a technical name, but since I don’t really see too many people talking about it, I don’t know the given moniker.

Now, before I go any further - I am not one to give out search optimization advice based on hearsay, much unlike thousands of wannabe SEO’s who spread their search engine optimization gossip that they read about on some forum or blog somewhere. Typically when I say something works, it’s because I’ve done it myself. In the case of reinforced link building - I haven’t tried it, but I think it might be a viable, and effective, link building method.

Here is a very crude representation of what I am talking about (you can click on it to make it larger):

Reinforced Link Building Image

Basically, you somehow obtain a direct link from an authority website, preferably one that is topically related to your website, and then begin to build links to the authority website that is linking to your website.

Of course, as mentioned before, I have not tried this myself. While I have seen the process alluded to in a few different locations and I think that it might be pretty beneficial - I don’t know if the effort involved in this process would produce benefits worth the substantial effort and/or costs.

I’m pretty interested in learning new things in the search engine optimization field, and while I have a solid grasp on things - there’s always room for improvement. Especially considering the stance Google is taking against paid linking strategies, it’s a good idea for website owners to know what their options are when it comes to safe link building practices.

I welcome any insight or thoughts on the topic of reinforced link building.
