Search Engine Optimization “How To”
Search engine optimization is the basis for any website that hopes to gain, and maintain, a steady flow of traffic from the natural SERPs (search engine result pages). And, truth be told - basic SEO is easy. It’s not rocket science and it doesn’t require a lot of technical know-how. But - it requires that you start off with the right information.
There’s a lot of SEO gossip that floats around webmaster forums, SEO blogs and even in internet marketing circles… gossip that is purveyed by well-intentioned but severely misguided individuals. My personal thoughts on sharing SEO advice are this: If you don’t know first-hand, or you aren’t giving advice based on a compilation of information you’ve studied from prominent SEOs, you don’t have any business giving SEO advice.
Sure, all of the false information being shared throughout the ‘net really gives me and others who understand search engine optimization to a degree an advantage over website owners who trust the misleading, somewhat untrue or blatantly false information. But, it’s really not good for the general webmaster community to keep spreading the SEO mis-truths like the game of “telephone” where it’ll start out as one thing, but by the time it’s been rehashed and reworded by fourteen different people… the advice is completely and utterly worthless.
So - this is the reason for me creating this tutorial that will be referenced on this page… to get some straight-talk from a knowledgeable website owner about how to optimize your website effectively.
I’m not opposed to being corrected, so if you’ve got a differing point of view, feel free to let me know.
